Welcome to The Woods New Student Move-In and Orientation information hub.

We can’t wait to see you on campus to start your WWU journey. Move In day will begin at the McNutt Campus Center as a “one stop shop.” All campus offices will be available to help you be set up for success as you begin your Journey at The Woods!

**Presidential Welcome and Ivy Ceremony

Cutlip Auditorium, McNutt Campus Center
(LEAD Event)

We welcome you as members of our William Woods University family. The Ivy Ceremony is the first part of a two-part tradition that culminates at your graduation. Family and friends will be released to watch students cross the bridge under the shade of the trees around Senior Lake. New students will line up in Cutlip Auditorium to cross the bridge.

2:15 PM – 5:00 PM

Sorority House Hop, Fraternity Meet and Greet, and Open Office hours 

Start at the Cutlip Auditorium, McNutt Campus Center

We’ll meet in Cutlip Auditorium before traveling to campus locations for each of these opportunities. This is your opportunity to see some of our best housing and learn more about Sorority Life at the Woods. More interested in Fraternity Life? You’ll meet the Fraternity Men in their living spaces as well. The Academic Success Center, financial Aid, Registrar’s Office & Human Resources will also welcome visitors at this time. Students will have multiple opportunities to explore all locations this week, so don’t worry if you end up in one location longer than others.

Family and Friends Happy Hour

Kemper Arts Center, Cox Art Gallery

Family and friends need a break too. Please join several members of the William Woods University Board and Administration as we thank you for your hard work supporting your students’ success.

5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Family Farwell BBQ

Tucker Dining Hall

Join us for a farewell barbecue with your friends and family. Each new student will be given two meal tickets for their friends and family. Additional tickets may be purchased at the door. Following the meal, it’s time for family and friends to say, “See ya!”

Sorority Recruitment Information Session

Dulany Auditorium

Participating in Sorority Recruitment means getting to know other new students and meeting returning students—some of whom may be in your fall courses. It’s a lot easier to ask about an assignment if you’ve met them before! Learn about the process, how it works, and when you decide if you want to join a Chapter (spoiler alert: that decision is not until Sunday).

Get information on policy and safety at the Woods. Meet key staff (including your Residential Assistants/RAs) and some of your neighbors!

Smith, Allen, and Swearingen Lawn

An orientation tradition! Join us for ice cream, popsicles, tunes, and socializing! (Rain location: McNutt Campus Center)

University Text Alert System (Livesafe)

All students, faculty, and staff are automatically provided with access to the Livesafe app. This app will allow you to receive all emergency notifications, including weather alerts and campus closures. It also allows you to make reports directly to Campus Safety Officers. To download the app, use the link provided below. Your login credentials will be the same as those used to log on to campus computers.
