Each year William Woods University presents an opportunity for three incoming students to win a full scholarship. The student placing first will also receive free room and board (McNutt scholarship). All finalists will be automatically considered for the Honors program at William Woods University.

Hailey Butler of Wamego, Kansas, was the 2023 recipient of the McNutt Scholarship, which is presented each year to one incoming student who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement and character.
Isaiah Buse, a senior high school student from Houston, Missouri, is the 2020-21 Amy Shelton McNutt Scholarship recipient at William Woods University.
