The General Studies Degree (BGS) is designed for students that want to explore a variety of disciplines to achieve educational and professional goals. Students and their advisors (in consultation with a general studies faculty advisor) collaborate to choose courses and plan this four-year degree. The program allows students to create their own academic path, integrating coursework from across the curriculum. 

The program provides students with the academic foundation to advance their careers and/or continue their graduate education. Students can customize their studies to explore various topics and fields or focus their coursework around a central theme or academic discipline

Major Requirements

Core Credits: 1.00

Students will integrate their coursework from their various areas of study as well as demonstrate a meaningful professional direction for life after graduation. This course should be taken in the student’s last term of the BGS major. Prerequisite: This course should be taken in the student’s last term of the BGS major.
