Jennifer Horton is goal-oriented communications, public relations, and marketing leader with more than 20 years’ experience. Her most recent role was successfully building a PR and marking team at the University of Missouri’s College of Arts & Science.
She developed and managed all strategic marketing and communications plans; branding and main messages; recruiting, admissions, and advancement materials; website content and design, experiential marketing AKA events, social media (organic and paid), print and digital publications, and photography and videography.
Prior to higher education, Jennifer worked in strategic communication and marketing for a variety of industries including health care, telecommunications, non-profits, and downtown improvement districts. She began her career as a broadcast news reporter and anchor before moving to strategic communication and marketing. She earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Mizzou’s School of Journalism and has her public relations accreditation (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America.
Jen has lived in Columbia since 2001. She spends her free time as mom to teenagers Max and Audrey, coaching and judging competitive cheerleading, and chasing around her two dogs and two cats.
