Frequently Asked Questions about Stone-Campbell Memorial Hall Apartments

How are apartments awarded?

Apartment applications are submitted by "teams" of at least four students (up to six maximum per apartment). Residential Life assigns a point value based on the GPA and credit hours of the top four members of each team. The point values of the top four members will then be averaged to calculate the total team score. Residential Life will assign priority to your group based upon GPAs and credit hours. The teams with the highest averages will be selected for Stone-Campbell Memorial Hall. Anyone, including rising sophomores, are encouraged to apply if they are interested.

Can more than 4 people live in an apartment?

Yes! Residential Life will allow four, five, or even six people to live in an apartment. For example, if six people want to live in an apartment, there would be two double bedrooms and two single bedrooms with three people sharing each bathroom. If a team chooses to have more than four people in an apartment, they will need to designate on their apartment application which residents have agreed to share a bedroom.

Do I have to submit at least a team of four to apply for the Stone-Campbell Memorial Hall Apartments?

Yes. Any team that applies with four or more members will take priority over a team with fewer than four members. However, since we cannot anticipate how many teams will apply, if you have a partial team you could win a spot if there are not enough full teams applying. In this case, Residential Life will most likely assign an incoming transfer student to live with you, though decisions will be made on a case by case basis.

Are my chances for getting an apartment better if we have more than four people apply?

Since the process is based on the average of the top members, your score will not be impacted by having more than four in your group. The rational for allowing more than four people in an apartment is to provide multiple housing options for our residents.

What do I do if I can't find enough people to get a team of four, five, or six?

Stop by the Office of Residential Life and leave your name. We will try to keep a list of others who are in your situation and introduce you so you can put full teams together.

Do Stone-Campbell Memorial Hall Apartments qualify as living on campus?
