Students pursuing a Bachelor’s in Interpretation Studies in ASL-English, a Bachelor’s in American Sign Language Studies or a minor in American Sign Language can further their knowledge and experience through the William Woods student organization, Hands Up!
Hands Up!
Hands Up! is a club organized and run by the interpreting students in the Interpreting Department. More than just a signing club, Hands Up! operates within the William Woods campus and also within the Deaf community in Fulton.
Hands Up! has two main focuses:
- To facilitate a positive, non-threatening environment where people can easily join, despite signing proficiency.
- To increase interaction and involvement within the Deaf community through direct interaction.
