FULTON, Mo. – William Woods University will welcome 354 new students to campus today, Thursday, August 20, as New Student Move-In kicks off the 2026-27 academic year.
Students and their families will arrive at The Woods throughout the day, where University faculty, staff, and current students will be on-hand to help them move into residence halls and begin the transition to college life.
This year’s incoming class represents 40 states and 32 countries, with students pursuing degrees across William Woods’ undergraduate programs. The University is welcoming 589 new students across its on-campus and online programs this fall, representing a 19% increase over last year.
“There is something special about the energy on campus when our newest students arrive at The Woods,” said William Woods University President Sarah Wisdom. “As I begin my first academic year as president, I’m especially excited to welcome this incoming class as they begin their own William Woods journey. They are joining a community that will challenge them, support them, and give them opportunities to discover their capabilities.”
Thursday’s move-in marks the beginning of several days of New Student Orientation activities designed to introduce students to campus, connect them with classmates, faculty, and staff, and prepare them for the first semester at William Woods.
The arrival of the newest class comes as William Woods continues to see strong enrollment momentum. The University has continued to expand academic opportunities and enhance the student experience to serve both traditional and non-traditional students.
New students will be joined by returning William Woods’ students on Friday, August 20, with Fall 2026 classes beginning Monday, August 24.
