ORL 576 - Cross Cultural Communication
As geographic and cultural boundaries are disappearing due to the effects of globalization, it is becoming increasingly important for business professionals to understand the dynamics of communication in cross-cultural settings. This course focuses on various aspects of communication and cultural differences including cultural values, cultural barriers, nonverbal communication, ethics, and challenges in inter and cross-cultural communication. Through personal self-reflection, case analyses, readings, and research, students will examine different patterns of communication across different cultures. They will develop effective communication strategies for highly culturally diverse work settings, which will also help them gain more success in their cross-cultural encounters.
