Tyler Bracht ’19, ’21 was promoted to the position of Campus Director of Undergraduate Admissions on July 14th of this year, culminating a decade of his growing within William Woods, first as a student-athlete, then as a graduate assistant, and most recently as a key member of the WWU Admissions team. Over the past four years, Bracht has played a major role in helping The Woods achieve record enrollment for the Fall ’23, Spring ’23, and Fall ’24 semesters. Get further acquainted with Tyler Bracht as he recently sat down to answer Five Questions for The Woods Today, as told to John Fougere:

1.)Tell us about your background – where are you from and what led you to William Woods?

I was raised on a farm in Mexico, Missouri, 20 miles north of Fulton. As a graduate of William Woods University, I had the opportunity to play baseball for the Owls from 2015-19. The small university was a great fit for my personality and education. I graduated high school with a number of college credits, giving me an opportunity to complete the MBA Plus program. In 2021, I was hired as a Transfer Admissions Representative. I have continued working within the admissions department, with a variety of different roles!

2.)What prompted you to pursue a career in higher education?

The WWU baseball program hired me on staff from 2019-2021. During this time, I was introduced to recruiting and connecting with prospective students reviewing a degree at WWU. My higher education with William Woods made a large impact on me, therefore, I was intrigued on how I could help more students review an opportunity to pursue degrees offered at WWU.

3.)What are your priorities as Campus Director of Undergraduate Admissions?

The number one priority is to uphold the William Woods mission to its highest standard. The ability for me to introduce young minds to the opportunities available at WWU. To invest, grow, mature and create a life of theirs through a student-centered focus from all departments on campus.

4.)What are your career goals – where do you see yourself professionally in 10-15 years?

My career goal is to become a president of a University or an organization. This could be in Higher Education, high school, or another professional organization within the state of Missouri. My current role will be my first position in a managerial role, therefore, this is a big step in my professional career. WWU has given me so much opportunity in my life; my goal is to provide other young adults with their own opportunity to earn their degree, along with finding their potential from being at our university.

5.) What are your passions outside of work?

Outside of work I love to golf and spend time outdoors with loved ones. My family has a cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks on the split of the small and large Niangua River in Camdenton, Missouri. I am a weekly participant at the weekly golf league at Tanglewood Golf Course here in Fulton. I will be entering my seventh season on the WWU baseball staff, after my previous five being in a volunteer coaching position. Lastly, my biggest passion is spending time with my fiancé, we enjoy activities and competition. These activities range from workouts, outdoor walks, shooting hoops and pickle ball!
