The mission of William Woods University's Office of Career Services is to educate and empower students and alumni in the development of lifelong career strategies for a diverse world. The Office of Career Services provides a wide range of services for students and alumni of the university, including Career Exploration and Planning, Networking Events, Resume and Cover Letter Development, Job and Internship Searches, Graduate School Search Assistance, and Study Abroad Information.

Career Exploration

Career planning begins the moment a student enrolls at William Woods University. The Office of Career Services provides the tools to assist students in planning for the future and developing a plan of action to reach their ultimate career goals.

FOCUS

FOCUS is the William Woods University online career and education planning tool. It is a self-paced career guidance tool to help you clarify your career goals, provides you with valuable occupation information and assists you in deciding which major is the right fit for you. FOCUS is available online 24/7. To optimize your use of FOCUS, be sure to:

  • Complete all of the Self Assessment section
  • Discuss your results with your Academic Adviser
  • Schedule an appointment with the Office of Career Services to discuss your results and create an action plan

CAREERlink by PurpleBriefcase

CAREERlink by PurpleBriefcase

The Office of Career Services offers students additional services through CAREERlink by PurpleBriefcase, the William Woods University online resume and cover letter builder. Search for full-time or part-time jobs, internships or summer opportunities. Explore the vast resource library for tips, tricks and insight for your job search. Network with potential employers. CAREERlink is a vital tool in the process of preparing students for the job search and setting them up for future success. CAREERlink is available 24/7.

Graduate School

A graduate or professional degree can give you a great advantage. Graduate school is a great way to advance your education while enhancing your marketability to employers. Graduate programs all over the world have students attending class part-time, full-time, and online. Certainly, there is a program out there for you. The Office of Career Services has many resources available to you as you search for the graduate program to best fit your needs.

William Woods University offers several graduate programs in business and education both on campus and online. If you’re interested in pursuing an advanced graduate education degree in either of these two areas, be sure to speak with and advisor at the Office of Career Services to discover if these William Woods’ programs are the right fit for you.

Study Abroad

Study abroad gives you an opportunity to experience a different academic and cultural environment. There are programs to fit any area of interest, advancing academic achievement, promoting global awareness, encouraging personal development, and setting the foundation to become an actively engaged world citizen.
