Kemper Kids Art Camp

For grades K - 8

Monday - Friday, 10a.m. - 3p.m.

Session I: Green Art, July 10-14

The first week of camp will focus on alternative (recycled) materials and crafting materials from the natural environment.

Session II: Art Around the World, July 17-21

During the second week of camp, campers will discover how art is expressed by other cultures around the globe. Campers will create masks, painting, and other objects inspired by those cultures.

Session III: Artist Colony, July 24-28

The last week of camp will focus on the fine arts, such as drawing, painting, printmaking, clay, and more traditional materials and processes.

SmArt Camp

An art camp for high-school students at William Woods University.

Monday - Friday, 10a.m. - 3p.m.

Session I: Drawing, July 10-14

Experience the diversity of drawing media (charcoal, pastels, ink, etc.) and create a finished drawing a day, such as perspective drawing, still life and self-portrait.

Session II: Painting, July 17-21

Explore the application of water-based paints and create your own masterpieces studying masters such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, etc.

Session III: Sculpture, Clay, and Mold-Making, July 24-28

Investigate clay and plaster of Paris sculpture techniques, raku firing, and mold making. Each participant will take home at least one finished sculpture.

Call for art:

The William Woods art department is calling for artists to submit their work for display in the Light and Shadow Exhibition, which takes place August 15 - 25, 2017. Artists from throughout the country are invited to explore the interdependence between light and shadow, black and white, day and night. Traditional as well as conceptual visual interpretations will be considered.
