To enhance the student experience
by strengthening traditions and building
loyalty to The Woods is the theme behind
a new student philanthropy program at
William Woods called S.T.A.T. –
Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow.
S.T.A.T. membership is $10 a year; $5
going to the Loyalty (annual) Fund and
$5 in support of the organization and
its programming.The popularity of the
program has exceeded expectations. In
its first semester, S.T.A.T. has enrolled
134
students, many of them freshmen.
Membership has its perks! In addition to
a S.T.A.T. t-shirt, members receive a swag
bag with coupons from local businesses.
More importantly, members are invited to
network with alumni speakers, meet alumni
board members, and attend special events.
I recently had the opportunity to attend
a dessert reception with the alumni board,”
said S.T.A.T. member Ben Struemph, a
junior from Jefferson City, Mo. “I gained
valuable knowledge that will help enrich
my life as a student, plus I learned the
importance of being an active alumnus.”
Becky Stinson, alumni activities director,
explained “a member may choose to
network with alumni, dine with a visiting
speaker, relax with a Starbuck’s finals break,
and can rely on guaranteed seating at
presentations and events.”
Three new or revised thank you programs aim to promote
philanthropy and recognize WilliamWoods supporters!

All the perks of membership add
to a student’s Woods experience,” said
Kacie Dielschneider, Loyalty Fund
coordinator.
The students learn that much of their
college experience was made possible
by supportive alumni, and alumni are
what they, too, will be one day.”
