Teaching Philosophy:

  • "As a Professor with more than ten years of teaching experience in higher education, I have developed a strong philosophical teaching pedagogy that incorporates several teaching philosophies. This statement of teaching philosophy will not incorporate all the practices I incorporate in my pedagogy, it will however, outline my core philosophies as well as provide examples to support them. First, I believe in total transparency relative to what students can expect from me as well as outlining my expectations of students for each course. Secondly, I believe in creating a classroom learning environment (whether on ground or online) that fosters trust and safety for students to ask questions, while empowering them to challenge one another with evidence-based facts and add to their peers learning. Third, I believe it is extremely important to link the course curriculum and textbook to the real-world examples. Finally, I believe in designing course assignments/assessments that are meaningful and challenge students to critically think, as well as utilize their own innovative ideas to problem solve."
