Teaching Philosophy:

  • In teaching, my fundamental goal is student engagement. I believe that my enthusiasm for the subject of Veterinary Science helps to promote active learning and problem solving, rather than simply passively being exposed to information. I routinely incorporate live animal demonstrations into my lesson plans and provide opportunities for undergraduate research as other ways to engage the students. My ultimate objective is to provide students with the foundational building blocks of information, observation, analysis, and synthesis. This foundation hopefully will allow for lifelong learning.
