Teaching Philosophy:

  • Art presents a wonderful opportunity to observe, reflect, document, and create. As an instructor, my first priority is to inspire students to explore the possibilities of expression through art. To encourage this process, I aim to build a classroom that fosters collaboration, prolific studio practice, and community engagement. Students should leave my class as stronger artists and communicators with a deeper understanding of how engagement with the arts can enrich any pursuit.
  • “I believe finally, that education must be conceived as a continuing reconstruction of experience; that the process and the goal of education are one and the same thing.” -John Dewey
