Job Title: Content Marketing Specialist
Department: Marketing & University Relations
Reports To: Director of Marketing
Job Type: This is a full time, exempt position.
General Description:
William Woods University is seeking a creative, marketing-minded content developer to join our University Marketing Team! This person would be an integral member of the team, involved in the development and execution of marketing and branding initiatives across various channels for the entire university. We are looking for candidates with a track record of contributing to outstanding, multichannel advertising or marketing campaigns that look great and perform efficiently. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinker who is aware of current trends and has excellent verbal and written communication skills to excel in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Candidate must be able to work independently and collaborate with all members of the marketing team to ensure work meets the needs of the involved university departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize as a marketing team member on a wide range of materials that may include: web pages, presentations, signage, newsletters, social media, e-mail campaigns, blog posts, photography, videography, and print pieces.
· Oversee the execution of organic social media content strategy including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Report on social media KPIs internally monthly in order to optimize reach and performance.
· Collect images, videos, testimonials, and other footage, then turn it into branded content through editing, graphic design, and/or brand voice.
· Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and University Webmaster on website analytics and search engine optimization.
· Develop content for search engine optimized blogs.
· Serve as a campus photographer and videographer when necessary, including editing and archiving assets for marketing and public relations purposes.
· Obtain input from management, ensuring designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the university appropriately.
· Understand and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment, while interacting frequently with team members on priority changes and status updates.
· Contribute to brainstorming meetings and the development of new ideas.
· Assist in developing, editing, and proofreading marketing content.
· Conduct research to stay abreast of digital marketing best practices as well as consumer and content trends in higher education.
Perform other related duties as needed.
Position Requirements:
· A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in marketing, communications, graphic design or a related field. A minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience.
· Strong knowledge of social media best practices including previous experience developing and executing social media strategy and demonstrated impact from those efforts.
· Strong knowledge of analytics reporting functions on various social media platforms, SEO best practices, and Google Analytics.
· Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
· Proficient in current equipment, tools, and techniques, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, e-mail marketing software, social media platforms, and content management systems.
· Experience with photography, videography, and editing.
· Ability to produce work in compliance with existing brand guidelines.
· Current, strong design portfolio that exhibits a passion for high-quality content, strategic design thinking, and an understanding of effective marketing communications.
· Ability to work independently on a variety of projects as well as collaboratively with a team.
· Strong time management, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills.
· Talent in presenting information concisely and accurately, with keen attention to detail both in design and copy.
· Strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
· Previous experience working in education and developing school relationships will be helpful, but not required.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position. Eligible for university benefits. Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week, occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
