Job Title: Temporary Grounds Technician

Department: Physical Plant Maintenance

Reports To: Director of Physical Plant

Job Type: This is a part time, non exempt position.

General Description:

Maintain all grounds areas, keeping them neat and clean. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


> Maintain all grounds and landscape areas, keep all grounds clean and neat.

> Mow, trim, and keep all leaves raked.

> Weed flower beds.

> Other duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


> Ability to climb several flights of stairs several times each day.

> Ability to lift, push or pull up to 100 pounds.

> Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, bend, walk or stand for long periods.

> Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.

> Ability to be subjected to motor or machine noise.

> Ability to wear protective clothing.

> Ability to be exposed to dusts, fumes and odoriferous working conditions.

> Ability to use a computer.

> Effective mobility skills required to move about freely and quickly in office and on campus.

> Holds a valid Missouri drivers license.

Position Requirements:

> Varied work experience preferably in grounds.

> Any combination of education training or experience that provides required knowledge, skills and abilities.

> Ability to operate various hand tools, power tools and lawn equipment.

> Ability to communicate effectively both orally.

Work Schedule:

This is a temporary position. Summer break runs from April 29th - August 16th, 2024.

Work hours are from 7:30 to 4:30 Monday - Friday.
