Off-Campus Access
For Journal Articles and Other Resources:
For immediate access to journal articles and other resources, use the library's catalogs to search for books and Databases to search for articles. Catalogs and Databases can be found on the library's main page. The ARTHUR catalog searches only for items at WWU, while the MOBIUS catalog searches a large number of Missouri academic and public libraries.
Note: When you click on database or eBook link, you will be asked for your username and password. If nothing displays, adjust your computer's security settings to a lower setting and try again. For students enrolled prior to January 2012, your username is firstname.lastname. Your password can be found on your technology welcome letter. For students enrolled after January 2012, your username will be your first initial, middle initial, and last name (the same as your email). Faculty and Staff access follows the firstname.lastname convention.
If you have any questions or problems, contact the Reference Librarian.
Requesting Books
To request books that Dulany Library owns, call the Circulation Desk (573-592-4289), or email Katie Lawrence, at Katie.Lawrence@williamwoods.edu, with the title, author, and call number of the book you wish to request, your student id number and your contact information.
To request books from any other Missouri academic library that you would like to pick up at Dulany Library, find the title you wish to request in the MOBIUS catalog. Look for the "Request this Item" button. The next screen should ask for the cluster you are affiliated with. Choose ARTHUR in the drop down menu, and click on the button to submit the information. On the next screen type in your name, your campus ID, and choose William Woods University as the pick-up location. If you do not know your campus ID, contact the Circulation Desk at the Library.
Pick up MOBIUS Books at a Library Near You
When you request books from the MOBIUS catalog, you can choose to pick up your books at any of the participating libraries.
For example, this means that if you live in the Kansas City area, you can choose to pick up your books at UMKC, Rockhurst, William Jewell, or the MOBIUS library closest to you.
If you wish to use this option, you must know the cluster that the library near you belongs to. Go to the list of MOBIUS libraries and see which one is nearest you, and see which cluster they belong to. Then, when you are requesting a book, choose that cluster and library as the pickup location (this will happen on the 2nd screen--the first screen asks which cluster you belong to, which is Arthur). If you have questions about this, contact the Library.
If you are unable to pick up a book at a MOBIUS library near you, Dulany Library staff may be able to order a book for you and send it to your home. For more information, contact the Circulation Desk (573-592-4289), or email Katie Lawrence, at Katie.Lawrence@williamwoods.edu, with the title, author, and call number of the book you wish to request, your student id number and your contact information. This is not the preferred method of ordering books, as it takes several more days than ordering a book to be picked up at a library near you.
Renew Library Items
You can renew online any item you have borrowed from the library if no one else has placed a hold on the item. Click on Renew Library Materials on the main library page under "Library Services." Log into your account and request renewals on the items you wish to keep longer. You will find out immediately if your request for renewal was successful. If you have questions about how to do this, contact the Circulation Desk at the Library.
Visiting Other Missouri Academic Libraries
You have the option of visiting other MOBIUS libraries for direct borrowing of books. A list of participating institutions can be found here. The guidelines listed below will help your visit go as smoothly as possible:
- Before you go, contact the Circulation Desk (573-592-4289) to verify that your account is in good standing and that your Unique ID is set up. If your library account has a balance, or if your Unique ID is not set up, the other library will be unable to check anything out to you.
- Take your William Woods University ID card (it should have a barcode attached to it), and your Unique ID number. If you do not have either of these items, please contact the Circulation Desk (573-592-4289).
- Remember that although each MOBIUS library abides by the MOBIUS Interlibrary Lending Policy, each institution may have different policies related to which materials you may access or circulate and what equipment you may use. We ask that you respect their policies and procedures so that consortium borrowing may continue. Abuse of this privilege may lead to revocation of your visiting patron option.
