BIO318 - Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy and Physiology Lab
This course will use a hands-on approach in which students are encouraged to become active participants in their own mastery of vertebrate design (topics addressed in BIO 317). The study of classification and a survey of early chordates will provide background. Utilizing slides, models, their own bodies and through the dissection of representative animals, students will investigate vertebrate structure and function, focusing on one organ system at a time. Physiological aspects will be explored through a variety of experiments that highlight the similarities and differences among vertebrates. Concurrent enrollment in BIO 317 required.
