PED246 Community Health

Community health is the study and improvement of health of an entire community. This is a mufti-faceted approach that involves many different sectors of a community and it's partners. This class will provide an overview/review of the community health field. The focus will be on assessment and planning, policy development, community mobilization/promotion and action planning. Throughout the entire process, learning how cultural competence plays a role in every area of public health. Also included in this course is health education programming for the community, which includes planning, budgeting, communication, resource inventory and development.
