COM349 Experimental Film and Video Production

Pushing the boundaries. This course offers an opportunity to explore and experiment in time-based visual media using digital media and digital video. The course covers the whole process of experimental film production from initial idea through to a final video and looks at various experimental techniques. The course is aimed at artists and filmmakers who wish to explore and develop visual imagery. Even those filmmakers who want to make narrative-based documentaries or dramas can benefit from this course, by getting them to look at their production with an artistic eye, in order for them to fully utilize the potential of this visual medium. Students will work alone and within groups producing two short videos using our Canon Professional Digital Camera. The final video will be edited digitally using Final Cut Pro on the Macintosh Platform.
