MBA Prerequisites

William Woods University takes pride in delivering the highest quality education and academic standards appropriate to Graduate level learning. In conjunction with this, the University maintains specific prerequisites in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. All MBA cohorts have undergraduate prerequisites of at least three credit hours in accounting, economics and finance.  It is the responsibility of the students to complete these prerequisites.

Temporary admissions to the MBA program is allowed without the prerequisites, however, the prerequisites must be completed prior to enrolling in the fifth course, BMT 524.  Failure to complete all prerequisites by this deadline will result in a delay in your obtaining your MBA degree.  If you are enrolled in an onground cohort and you fall out of the rotation due to suspension from the program, you may be required to complete your MBA degree online once your prerequisites are met.

Satisfactory completion of the prerequisite can be met by the successful completion of the accounting, economics and finance prerequisite courses at the undergraduate level.  Eight week online courses designed to meet the requirement are available through William Woods.  Those courses are ACC 240 Principles of  Accounting I; ECN251 Macroeconomics or ECN252 Microeconomics (only one economics class is required); BUS 415 Corporate Finance and BMT440 Financial Management.  If the course is taken at another institution, an official transcript listing the course and final grade must be received in the Graduate College Office by the completion deadline.
