An "issues-based" course for non-majors introduces some of the most important recent developments in the biological sciences and their biological underpinnings. Topics will vary, but may include origins of infectious and inherited disease, human/environmental interactions, and impact of new DNA biotechnology on society. Prerequisite - MAT 099 and ENG 099, or equivalent/higher
