ITP 362 - Interpreting in the Performing Arts

Performance interpreting is designed to expose students to the various approaches to interpreting musical and theatrical works. The course exposes students to both frozen and extemporaneous source texts found in music and drama. The course expands students’ application of cultural equivalence within the interpreting process, especially the preparation involved in interpreting scripted events. Theatrical performances will also be examined, focusing on zoning and shadow interpreting.
