David Anderson

Class of 2003 - B.A. Communications

David is an entrepreneur and filmmaker living in Columbia, MO with his wife Patty (Heppner) Anderson, ’05, their daughter Rhea, and their son Malik.

David is the owner and creative director of a motion picture company based in Columbia, MO called Chimaeric (pronounced ki-MARE-ick). He oversees the execution of all business operations and creative content for the company. Chimaeric writes and produces television commercials and corporate short films and provides post production services to documentaries and feature films.

David has worked as the colorist for many successful independent films including Killing Them Safely (Sundance Selects), Awful Nice (Screen Media Ventures), The Middle Distance (Chicago Film Festival Premiere), Marshall’s Miracle, and Small Pond (The Orchard) on which he also served as the director of photography.

David has produced commercials for Mizzou Athletics, Learfield Sports, Boone Hospital Center, The Department of Defense, and The Callaway Bank. Some of his early projects included a recruitment video for the William Woods equestrian program in 2009, and a series of admissions videos and the Imagine Campaign fundraising video in 2010. On campus, David earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE) fraternity and President’s Twenty. David transferred to William Woods after attending Westminster College for a year.
