I hope to find a job where I can work with something I am passionate about while also using my degree.

Why did you come to William Woods?

When I visited William Woods University, I really enjoyed how it felt like home. The sense of community that we have here at the school is incredible and even when I was touring here I was able to get a feel for it and it made me feel like I was at home here.

What has been your favorite class here so far?

I have really enjoyed my Math classes because they allow me to focus on my major and learn new things that I find very interesting.

What has been your favorite LEAD event so far? Why?

My favorite LEAD event so far was when Lori Hart came and spoke to us last year. She is an incredible speaker that breaks normal things down and allow us to laugh at ourselves.

What’s one thing you wish you had known when you first started at William Woods?

I wish I had known that the professors are super approachable and that if we have questions we can just come to their office hours.

What is one thing you wish more people knew about you?

I know how to knit.

Have you ever had a fun nickname? What was it?

I go by Rory on the soccer field since it is quicker than my full name.

What is your favorite thing in your room here?

My graduation hat from high school

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?

I love the Owl’s Nest because you can always catch up with people in between classes and you always bump in to people who are heading to the same building as you.

Where do you like to study?

Anywhere where I can spread out all my notes and laptop and take up some space. My favorite study tip is to make a checklist, because it is so satisfying to check things off and see how much you have done.

What is a typical weekday like for you at William Woods?

After fighting with my alarm clock, I get up and go to Tucker’s. After that, I head to my classes and get my homework done in between. In the afternoon I usually have soccer practice or some sort of event for a club. Other than that, I just like to find time to hang out with friends and do fun things.

What is your favorite place in Fulton? Why?

I really enjoy LuLu’s. It was one of the first places I visited in Fulton and I love their frozen yogurt.

What has surprised you the most about going to school at William Woods?

How easy it is to make connections and get to know people. We are such a close-knit community on campus. It is almost impossible to go to Tucker’s without seeing anyone you know.

What has been the most challenging part of college?

Being asked “What are your plans after college?”

What is one word your friends would use to describe you?

Positive.

What is one word you’d use to describe William Woods?

Connected.

What is your favorite memory of your time here at William Woods so far?

Last soccer season when we scored against Park with 0.3 seconds left on the scoreboard, then when on to beat them in penalty kicks and move on to nationals.

Who is your favorite faculty or staff member?

Travis Tamerius because he is really approachable and always has an amazing story from somewhere in the word.

What is your superpower?

I am really good at trying new sports and usually become quite decent at it quite quickly.
