Rocky Horror Picture Show on Tap at WWU

10/22/2009 Mary Ann Beahon
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (573) 592-1127

Break out your costumes—the cult classic film, the Rocky Horror Picture Show, is coming to William Woods University.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 British musical comedy film that parodies science fiction and horror films. It gained notoriety as a midnight movie in 1977 when audiences began participating with the film in theaters across the United States.

WWU’s Jesters Club invites the campus and the community to view and discuss the film at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Cutlip Auditorium of the McNutt Campus Center.

The film is interactive, so the Jesters will be selling prop packets at the door for $5 each to raise money for their club. They encourage people to come dressed in costume; however, it is not mandatory.

The Jesters Club is committed to bringing a greater awareness of theatre and its artistic place on society to the community at large, as well as providing support to the William Woods University Theatre Department.
