Although the complex is under one roof, each hall maintains its own identity. The individual halls within the S.A.S. complex are named after past presidents Dr. Harlie L. Smith, Reverend Frank W. Allen, and Dr. Tilford T. Swearingen.
The S.A.S. Complex houses approximately 180 independent students, and is located near the McNutt Campus Center, Sports Complex, and the Burton Business Building.
