In 1917, what had been the Samuel Watson house was remodeled to accommodate 38 students and three teachers. Senior Hall named for its senior-class residents was renamed Reid Hall in 1918, in honor of a dean at the college, Martha McKenzie Reid. In 1941, Reid Hall was remodeled and nearly doubled in size. Again, the building assumed a new name, honoring Don P. Bartley of Fulton, a member of the board of trustees for 44 years and an officer in the Callaway Bank, who was an invaluable financial adviser to William Woods.
Bartley Hall currently houses up to 44 upperclassmen who meet designated academic requirements.
