At William Woods, we view education as a journey of discovery. Whether you are studying science or psychology, the care of animals or the fine arts, we believe the very best journeys are fed by curiosity in the world around us. Woods Around the World (WATW) is a unique approach to education that takes the student beyond the classroom and the textbook and into the real world of another culture. Students spend part of a semester studying a nation and her people - their history and way of life - and then they travel to see that country firsthand. When they return from their field trip, students complete a supervised project which reflects on the experience. Such an approach broadens their education, helping them to better understand globalization and equipping them personally and professionally for their future endeavors.
