Alpha Chi Omega is a national women's organization that enriches the lives of both its collegiate and alumnae members through lifetime opportunities for friendship, leadership, learning, and service. As a leading women's organization, Alpha Chi Omega inspires and encourages its members to achieve the highest moral, cultural and intellectual level in the art of daily living. We believe in the development of members in their cultural appreciation, social awareness, and personal presentation.

National Founding: October 15, 1885 at DePauw University

William Woods University founding: November 20, 1965 as the Delta Chi Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega.

Nickname: A-Chi-O's

Flower: Red Carnation

Colors: Scarlet Red and Olive Green

Official Symbol: the Golden Lyre

Philanthropy: Women Against Domestic Violence. Alpha Chi Omega's philanthropy encourages members to support victims of domestic violence through connections with local agencies, and to assist in the development and implementation of educational programs and hands-on activities. Delta Chi's local affiliate is the Coalition Against Rape and Domestic Violence (CARD-V.)
