Orientation and Check-In

The USCIS requires that students "check-in" with the International Student Office each semester.  The initial "check-in" provides students with information about designated school officials (DSO's) and the international office an opportunity to copy various documents for the student's file.

At a mandatory orientation, students will be instructed on their rights and responsibilities as an F-1 student.  Opportunities are available  for students to ask any questions relating to their "international" status.

"Mini-orientations" are held throughout the semester on a variety of topics:  understanding U.S. academic documents, preparing resumes and letters of applications, applying for OPT, making choices at end of program, etc.

The International Student Office is located in Room 111 of the Woods Academic Building.  The office is open Monday-Friday from 8 A.M. until 4:30 P.M.
