Every student at William Woods University is given space on the network called a user folder to store data. This service is provided to students by University Information Technologies. The advantage to using your user folder is that the files you store are secure and are backed up on a regular basis. It also gives you the convenience of being able to access those files anywhere there is a networked computer on campus such as labs and residential halls. The size allowed for each student is 50 megabytes. The following is a simple walk-through on how to gain access to your folder.
This guide assumes you have a functional connection to the Internet.
Click Start, and then click Run.
Type: \\wwudata
Click OK. |
| Double-click the Students folder. |
You will have to scroll through the folders until you find your user name (folder). Once you find your folder right-click on the folder and go to send to desktop (create shortcut). |
| You should now have a shortcut to your network user folder on your desktop. Double-click this shortcut. |
Type the domain name then "\" and your username.
Example: williamwoods\john.doe
Click OK. You should now be in your user folder. |
