PeaceJam is a unique program that allows youth to study the life and work of Nobel Peace Prize Winners. In the high school curriculum, students in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to attend regional events wherein students come together for workshops, service-learning projects, and opportunities to present service-learning projects they have been working on as well as to meet and to connect with a Nobel Peace Prize Winner during conferences. College students are invited to participate as mentors in these events. The role of a mentor includes facilitating small group discussion and participating in other activities during PeaceJam Youth Conferences and Slams. Students interested in being mentors are required to submit an application as well as attend advance training. Interested to know more? A big THANK YOU to all our 2009 Heartland PeaceJam Youth Conference mentors!
