"Peace Jam: A Billion SimpleActs of Peace" by IvanSuvanjieff & Dawn Engle.
Jody is the only Nobel PeacePrize Laureate to have been dropped by PeaceJammers in a teambuilding exercise, and event that happened at the April 2007 Heartland PeaceJam Youth Conference!
Jody Williams is the only American Nobel Peace Laureate involved in PeaceJam. Her brother is deaf.
She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997 for her work in creating an international treaty to ban landmines and for the clearing of anti-personnel landmine fields.
The International Campaign to Ban Landmines is working hard to convince the leaders of those countries to stop making and using landmines. Jody’s goal is to create a “MINE FREE WORLD.” Jody is no longer the Director of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, but she still serves as its international ambassador.
Jody is now working with her fellow Nobel Laureates on the Nobel Women’s Initiative. These Laureates include Betty Williams & Rigoberta Menchú Tum.
