The magical performance will take place at 7 p.m. March 6 in Cutlip Auditorium of WWU’s McNutt Campus Center. The event, which is free and open to the public, is part of the President’s Concert and Lecture Series.
The Spencers’ show is always captivating. They combine scenery, music, lighting, special effects, audience interaction and cutting-edge illusions to produce a powerful theatrical experience for their audience.
Included in their act are such illusions as the Split Personality, which is the modern-day sophisticated version of cutting a woman in two, and the Spikes of Doom, during which an audience member is placed inside a small box and then steel spikes appear to penetrate the body.
The Spencers are made up of the duo Kevin and Cindy Spencer. The two have been shocking audiences with their act for more than a decade. They have performed on more than 500 college campuses all over the globe.
They have been recognized as the Campus Entertainers of the Year twice and Performing Arts Entertainers of the Year six consecutive years. Campus Activities Magazine readers named them Best Touring Production, Best Performing Arts Event, Best Variety Performers and Best Major Performance.
During Origami, one of the most breathtaking illusions, a woman is put in a 26-inch box. The box is then folded up to a 12-inch box, with the woman inside.
