Green Owl Awards were first presented in 1961. They honor those alumni who have given years of service to the Alumni Association and the university.
A 1972 graduate of William Woods, with a B.S. in biology, Rigdon later earned an A.D. in nursing from Northern Oklahoma College and a B.S. in nursing from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
She works as Registered Nurse with the Newkirk Public Schools and Hospice of North Central Oklahoma.
Rigdon currently serves on the Pioneer Technology Center Board of Education and as president-elect of Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers. She is a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused or neglected children), a member of the Newkirk PTA and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She has been a member of the William Woods University alumni board since 2001.
