Banks Named to Who’s Who

The daughter of Chuck and Maryanne Banks of Pevely, Mo., she is majoring in social studies education.
Banks was one of 13 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who, based on being an outstanding campus leader. A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” Banks joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
Banks has been involved in numerous campus activities. She is a Community Advisor and a Freshman Advantage mentor. She also helped establish and is executive director of “Up ’til Dawn” a WWU student organization raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
She participated in the Mentor-Mentee program, managed the women’s basketball team, and was in the theater production “Grease” in 2002. She is a member of the Campus Standards Board and Young Democrats and is a student member of the Missouri State Teacher Association.
Banks is a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and served as the Panhellenic representative and the vice president of continuous open bidding/assistant recruitment chair.
She implemented and participated in the Panhellenic Day of Service in Fulton. She also served as Panhellenic secretary and treasurer, and was the secretary of the Order of Omega Greek Honorary Society.
Banks has also attended two leadership institutes, the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute and the “Up ‘til Dawn” Leadership Academy.
She was selected by the Student Alumni Council as an Outstanding Sophomore of 2002 and an Outstanding Junior of 2003.
