Popp Recognized as Certified Financial Planner

A resident of Jefferson City, Popp has worked at William Woods since 2001 and is responsible for teaching various financial business classes.
The CFP marks identify those individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements, have successfully completed financial planning coursework and have passed the CFP certification examination.
The exam covers the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits and estate planning. CFP certificants must also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and to uphold CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility and Financial Planning Practice Standards.
Popp joined the William Woods faculty after teaching financial management, personal finance and essentials of investments at Lincoln University. She received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Lincoln.
She owned and managed Popp’s Catering, Inc., for 16 years and has been co-owner of Popp’s Farms since 1976. She was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Lincoln University in 1991.
Active in community affairs, Popp has served on the Cole County and City of Jefferson strategic planning committee, as well as the board and fund-raising committee of Samaritan Center.
