WWU to Hold High-Level Youth Soccer Camp

Approximately 50 teens from across the state of Missouri will meet Sunday at William Woods University for the AJAX Orlando Soccer Camp, which runs June 27– July 1. Coaches for the camp are from the Amsterdam Football Club, AJAX, in Holland.

This coed camp will bring participants from Missouri, and a few from Kansas, to William Woods for a week of high-level youth soccer training. Ages range from 12 to16.

According to Rob Podeyn, head soccer coach at WWU, association with AJAX should aid the university’s soccer program in gaining exposure and recognition.

“AJAX is a 140-year-old professional club that has a well-established history with its youth soccer development methods,” Podeyn explained. “They are considered by most countries and organizations to be the best in this area.”

The cost for AJAX Orlando Soccer Camp is $395 (including housing and meals) for participants staying on campus and $245 for commuters.
