Equestrians Compete in Oklahoma Centennial Horse Show

Horses and riders from William Woods University, coached by Laura Ward, assistant professor of equestrian science, took several honors at the Oklahoma Centennial Horse Show. The show was held April 14-18 at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Oklahoma Centennial Horse Show was organized in 1989 to commemorate the Land Run Centennial and has continued every year since to promote and celebrate the role of the horse in the development of Oklahoma. Winners from WWU were:

Lydian, shown by Megan Heintz of Hampton, Ill. –

2nd Place ASB Park Pleasure

3rd Place ASB Park Pleasure Championship

Sultan’s Starfish, shown by Lauren McMicheal of Houston, Texas –

2nd Place ASB Three Gaited Show Pleasure

5th Place ASB Three Gaited Show Pleasure Championship

Tonight’s Dream, shown by Jessie Kieren of Delafield, Wis. –

7th Place ASB Three Gaited Show Pleasure Championship

Heir Head, shown by Kristie Cutting of Barre, Mass. –

Excellent Performance in the Five Gaited Show Pleasure Class
