Students Receive Awards for Art Exhibited

The artwork is exhibited in the Mildred Cox Gallery of the Gladys Woods Kemper Center for the Arts. The Cox Gallery is open to the public, free of charge, Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 1-4 p.m. Call 573-592-4245 for more information.
Several students received awards at the opening reception. In the visual arts area, they are Khoa Nguyen of Mexico, Mo., and Megan Colbert of Curryville, Mo., for professional presentation; Mandy Ellis of Florissant, Mo., for artistic growth; Allison Hedges of Parkville, Mo., for dedication to the arts; Sarah Williams of Brookfield, Mo., for expression and creativity, and Holly Dirnberger of Oran, Mo., and Cara Evans of Pleasant Hill, Mo., for craftsmanship and design.
In the performing arts area, they are Lindsey Mertes of Branson, Mo., for professional presentation; Ellen Gilmer of Des Moines, Iowa, for artistic growth; Meghan Parks of Quincy, Ill., for dedication to craft; Sharree LaMere of Columbia, Mo., for expression and creativity, and Shaun Speers of O’Fallon, Mo., for craftsmanship and design.
In the communication arts area, they are Lauren Rossi of Poplar Bluff, Mo., for professional presentation; Justin Ludwig of Fulton, Mo., for artistic growth; Megan Klein of Fort Smith, Ark., for dedication to profession; Leah Novack of St. Louis, Mo., for expression and creativity, and Katherine Speer of Fulton, Mo., for craftsmanship and design.
