Mark Peterson joined the William Woods University this fall as vice president of enrollment management, responsible for the operational and strategic initiatives for enrollment and marketing.

Before coming to William Woods, Peterson worked at the University of Phoenix for 10 years, first as an enrollment counselor, then as an enrollment manager.  There, he hired, trained and coached admissions teams and managed all business aspects of the team, creating monthly forecasts and continual training to implement each month.

He earned two degrees at the University of Phoenix—a Bachelor of Science degree in business marketing and a Master of Business Administration degree in management and operations.

Describing himself as “a fierce competitor who is motivated by the opportunity to continually improve and grow,” Peterson also says he is “a leader who takes time to evaluate the why behind the what, helping my people to see how their actions fit into the bigger picture, clearly illustrating the strong link between personal and professional goals.”

Peterson has had a positive experience working at WWU thus far.

“I have loved being at William Woods,” he said.  “The campus is so beautiful and historic and everyone has been very kind and welcoming.  I love that I get to be on a team that makes such a difference.  I know just how important higher education is, and I feel very fortunate for the opportunity I have to be here, doing what I love to be doing, every single day.”

William Woods University’s online campus offers general education courses and two new, completely online degree programs—a Bachelor of Science degree in interpretation studies in ASL-English and a Master of Education degree in teaching and technology.

Enthusiastic about the future of the online programs at WWU, Peterson said: “Taking our degree programs online helps us reach students who may otherwise not be able to attend.  Our goal is to provide a world-class student experience, and every decision we make is centered on that goal.  I am confident the future is very bright!”
