Christmas is a time for family and friends. The cool weather and cheerful music bring people together, uniting them with gift giving, caroling or even crafting.

This year, the William Woods University Thriving Artist Group (T.A.G.) and Kemper Kids invite local families to create Christmas crafts with them from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 8, in the Gladys Woods Kemper Center for the Arts.

Kemper Kids Create Christmas is open to children grades K-8th. The children will be divided by grade levels to keep activities age appropriate. Children will have the opportunity to create Christmas ornaments and decorations, jewelry, cards and wrapping paper. A Christmas movie will be shown at lunch while the young artists sip hot chocolate and munch on festive treats and play games.

The event cost is $25 per child, and $15 for additional siblings. Children will need to pack a sack lunch, but a snack and drink in the afternoon will be provided, along with all art supplies.

“Kemper Kids Create Christmas will be a super fun opportunity for children to spend the whole day playing, creating and enjoying the excitement of the holidays,” Erica Begley, T.A.G. president, said.

“The kids will get to have their own workshop and be able to make Christmas gifts for loved ones that can be just from them. The all-day event will be interactive, engaging and full of Christmas cheer.”

Registration is open until 6 p.m. Dec. 5. Registration forms can be picked up and dropped off in room 120 of the Kemper Arts Center, or a copy can be emailed. For more information, contact Jennifer Sain at (573) 592-4245 or Jennifer.Sain@williamwoods.edu.
