Students, faculty and staff with balances on their William Woods University account are now able to pay their bills online through Owlnet.

Over the past several months, University Information Technologies (UIT) has worked with Higher One to implement the CASHNet online payment system, which went live Oct. 17.

“William Woods University has been looking at possible online payment options for a period of time,” Deana Ready, director of student financial services, said. “CASHNet met the criteria we established with their security features and interfaces with current data collection systems and billing processes.

CASHNet is a user-friendly system that allows students to choose who may have access to their accounts. With the student-driven access feature, students may choose to designate access to their guardians or parents.

Before CASHNet, students were required to go through the business offices to pay their William Woods accounts. CASHNET allows students to access their accounts and make immediate payments.

“By allowing students to make immediate payments, we eliminate time-sensitive situations, such as receiving a transcript, paying an account so that registration can occur, and utilizing a consistent payment method,” said Ready.

“As with any on-line payment system, this eliminates the need to write checks and allows immediate financial transactions to occur.”
