Courtney Wieberg of Rush Hill, Mo., was the recipient of the UPS Scholarship from Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF) during her senior year at William Woods University. Wieberg recently graduated with a degree in elementary education with concentrations in speech and theatre.

Wieberg was a first-generation college student and wears this title proudly. Growing up in a middle-class, blue-collar family taught her to work for what you want and for what you believe in. Being the oldest of three children, Wieberg has always strived to be a good role model.

At William Woods, Wieberg has been a part of the cheerleading team and traveled to places such as Germany, Czech Republic and Poland with WWU. After working for campus phonathon, Wieberg was promoted to supervisor and learned how to manage a group of students and work with alumni. She also served as a student worker in the financial services office.

Wieberg plans to find a job in the education field and further her own education by obtaining a master’s degree.
