Lauren Greenwald of Houston, Texas, was recognized for her accomplishments and campus involvement during the Co-Curricular Honors Banquet at William Woods University last month.
Greenwald, who graduated in May with a major in equestrian science, received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Senior Award. The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.
Greenwald was also one of 15 WWU students named to the 2012 edition of “Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges” based on outstanding campus leadership.
A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the Who’s Who students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” Greenwald joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
In her time at William Woods, Greenwald was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, President’s Twenty, Campus Activities Board, Multicultural Affairs Club, and Student Assembly Finance Committee.
Greenwald was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa service honorary and Order of Omega honor society. Her community service activities include support of the Coalition Against Rape and Domestic Violence as well as Faith Maternity Home, and Adopt a Family program.
