Jada Bennington of Beloit, Wis., was recognized for her dedication to academics and campus involvement at the Academic Convocation and Co-Curricular Honors Banquet at William Woods University last month.

Bennington, who graduated in May, was recognized as a Distinguished Scholar in Sports Management. The faculty of various disciplines at William Woods have the opportunity each spring to designate one graduating senior as a Distinguished Scholar. A minimum grade point average of 3.4 is required, but the faculty may consider other relevant academic factors and variables in the selection process.

Bennington also received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Senior Award. The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.

In her time at William Woods, Bennington was the captain of the women’s golf team where she was named NAIA All American Athlete and NAIA Scholar Athlete. She was an active member of the Chi Omega sorority, Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honorary, DECA student marketing organization, and International Justice Mission.

Bennington has volunteered as a junior golf instructor and at the YMCA of Callaway County, all while remaining on the Dean’s list every year at William Woods.
