William Woods University recently purchased equipment to enrich the educational experience of its students. The equipment is available for loan to students, faculty and staff.

The library bought four iPads with optional accessories, four notebook computers and one Kindle to add to their collection of still and video cameras, laptop computers and projectors.

"The equipment, as well as the other resources that the library has available for loan, are intended to help students accomplish their educational goals," said Erlene Dudley, library director.

"That's the library's mission and the library staff is dedicated to doing what we can to enhance the educational experiences of William Woods University students."

The loan period for most of the equipment is 24 hours. The Kindle and iPads can be borrowed for seven days.

Students have already begun borrowing the items. According to Dudley, the iPads and Kindle are the most popular items.

This summer, the library staff will review its inventory to decide whether to buy new items.

"We try to replace old equipment on a staggered basis so that we spend about the same amount each year," said Dudley.

"However, when something new hits the market, we look at how students might benefit from it.  You never know what will appear on the scene, and students are welcome to make suggestions about equipment purchases."

To borrow one of the items, visit the library circulation desk. Students must present WWU ID cards to borrow items.
