There are always ways to give back to someone or something that has given you so much. One way is to plant a tree in their name.

A William Woods University student organization, Knowing the Woods, will conduct a tree planting dedication at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, along Junior Lake. In honor of Arbor Day, the club will plant a white chestnut swamp oak tree dedicated to the Class of 2012.

"The committee wanted to honor not only my achievements at William Woods University, but all of the senior class," said Kelcie Spradley, founding president of Knowing the Woods.

"It is also in remembrance of always finding a way to give back to an organization and the community."

Sharon Mather, club adviser, will give a presentation about life after graduation, volunteering and how to find the right charitable organization to which to donate time or money.
